The Iron Giant is a classic and I wanted to work on something other then, well work. So I made a poster.

I would like to also say sorry to you wonderful folks for once again letting months pass between me stoping by to say hello and post something. I am fortunate enough to be teaching a class at Ohio State right now and long story short that has taken the majority of my time hostage.

I will be sure to post another project that I am about finished with by the end of the week...or so.

I've always found myself relating more as well as siding with greasers in the ever important war against the jocks. I am just about done painting a jock, he's all like...Big and blonde. Love the 50's, needed to do more character study's, and wanted to try some new brushes out.

Nucleus told me that both of my paintings got into the Harry Potter show. Which is Super Awesome! So I said kay, framed them and shipped them out yesterday. Wish I could go, there are some pretty wonderful artists showing!

Big Game Hunter

Who doesn't love big game hunters, right? Well, I'm not really a huge fan of them either but I do think that they make a wildly interesting character to put together. Soooooo many possibilities (animals, accessories and story lines)!

I went ahead and did a character study and mapped out a composition for one of the many paintings (Yes, that is a stuffed pig phone). I have also worked out a couple more drawings of this villianous hunter eating dinner in a huge room of his prized stuffed animals as well as him in action punching stuff in the face.

Before I started going crazy on the yeti's/big foot's, this was my original idea but decided to hold back on it until I had a better idea of what I wanted to do.

Harry Potter

The new Harry Potter movie is coming out soon and my favorite gallery has decided to put on a wicked awesome show dedicated to some wicked awesome magic. Gallery Nucleus has featured just about every singe one of my favorite artists so I am delighted and honored to have one of my pieces highlighted on their HP blog with the possibility of being shown in the physical gallery.

I recently submitted another piece about the Yule Ball for review which I personally think smashes the first painting, so hopefully it can get some love as well. This Yule Ball painting is about Hermione and Viktor Krum making their way to the infamous ice ball and the second one is just sort of Harry being nosey and snooping around Hogwarts.

They are both painted in cell vinyl and I had a lot of fun painting them.

I love the yeti or shall I say yeti's (there could be more then one).

They've yet to be discovered but I'm pretty sure I could find one if I really really wanted to. So instead of being cold and climbing mountains I painted this lovable little (actually huge) creature.
